Breathedge 2 Blueprints: All Confirmed Unlocks and Locations
Every Breathedge 2 blueprint confirmed in the Early Access build, how unlocks actually work, the DIY module system, and what is still unverified.
FAQ
How many blueprints are in Breathedge 2?
Do Breathedge 2 blueprint locations from the 2025 demo still work?
What is the first blueprint to get in Breathedge 2?
Nearly every repair and upgrade here comes from a recipe you have to physically stumble on. This page collects the blueprint locations and recipes verified in the Early Access build that went live on 2026-08-31, plus what nobody has documented yet.
Last verified 2026-09-01 against the Early Access launch build; values may change with patches. Entries are added only when a fact can be sourced.
How do you unlock blueprints in Breathedge 2?
The official store copy says it in three words: “Learn new blueprints.” Unlocks come from exploring and interacting with the world, not from a level-up menu or a vendor.
| What the developers said | Where it comes from | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Blueprint and DIY unlocks come from exploration | Steam store page, SURVIVE section | You find recipes by poking around, not by grinding |
| Hand-holding markers were deliberately removed | Official DIY announcement, 2026-04-03 | Nothing points at what you need; read the environment |
| The 2025 demo was “thrown out completely and rebuilt from scratch” | Official announcements, 2026-04-03 and 2026-06-06 | Demo-era location guides describe content that no longer exists |
Which blueprints are confirmed in the Early Access build?
These are the only Breathedge 2 entries with hands-on sourcing as of 2026-09-01. Everything else sits in the section below, marked open.
| Blueprint / recipe | What it does | Materials or prerequisite | Evidence level |
|---|---|---|---|
| First practical tool (crowbar-class) | Breaks containers and panels | 2 Metal | Community test; crowbar is the official DIY example |
| Public Oxygen Station (repair) | Fixed station becomes a refill point (Outskirts) | 3 Metal + 2 Electronics + 1 Wire + 3 Electrical Tape | Community test |
| Purified Oxygen | Restores 120 oxygen | 2 Oxyworm + 1 Metal + 1 Ice | Community test |
| Backpack | Carry capacity 110 → 185 (+75) | 4 Titanium | Community test |
| Small Engine research | Research task node at the Depot | Not yet published | Node confirmed; details pending |
Read the evidence column honestly: Community test means one player who finished Chapter 1 recorded it — the only hands-on layer available, since the PC version has no critic reviews on Metacritic yet. Pending means the node exists but nobody has published its numbers.
Nothing else counts as confirmed. The Chapter 1 armor, weapon, and tool upgrade trees are still undocumented: within 48 hours of launch no structured list from a credible hands-on source existed, and the first game’s tables would hand you numbers this build does not use.
How does the DIY module system change what a blueprint is?
Crafting here is not a static recipe list. The 2026-04-03 developer post describes a module system that absorbs much of what a classic blueprint table would cover:
- Basic tools are prototyped straight from raw materials — the “craft your first tool” moment.
- Higher-tier upgrades need dedicated workstations; everyone gets a garage plus a free starting toolbox.
- Modules come in seven categories — Sharp, Impact, Utility, Protective, Active, Capacity, Biological — each carrying rarity and quality.
- The same module type is contested between making gear and repairing the world around you.
Durability works the same way: basic tools never break, but the modules fitted into them wear out and can be partly reclaimed as raw materials. Undamaged modules move between tools; they cannot be duplicated.
So “where is the blueprint” is often the wrong question. For protection, it is which Protective parts fit the torso, arm, and leg slots at the train’s Space Suit wardrobe. The Chapter 1 gate is Cold Protection 100; a verified 106-point set is a Knitted Teddy Bear chest piece (+34), Foam on both arms (+22 each), Cardboard on both legs (+14 each). See the suit upgrades guide and the Chapter 1 walkthrough.
Why are there no complete blueprint locations yet?
| Open question | Current state |
|---|---|
| Total blueprint count in Chapter 1 | Unverified |
| Weapon and tool upgrade trees | Categories known, per-item costs unverified |
| Scanner-style unlock flow | Unverified — see the scanner page |
| Base building and vehicle blueprints | Not in this build |
Early Access ships with no base building, personal vehicles, spacecraft, warp jumping, or planet-surface play. The published plan puts two sizes of personal vehicle plus a new area and NPC in the first big update, and base building and planet surfaces in the second, across a roughly 16–20 month Early Access window — guides for those systems cannot exist yet.
Where do you find the materials these recipes need?
Materials hang off interactive objects rather than spawning as floating ore, which makes the materials hub more useful than any coordinate list.
| Material | How you actually get it |
|---|---|
| Aluminum | Drillable ore node — use the Drill action |
| Titanium | Small spiked-ball form, not a rock; early supply is tight |
| Wires | Pulled from electrical fittings |
| Electronics | Dismantled from appliances (e.g. a washing machine) |
| Electrical Tape | Cut off taped pipes — easy to walk past |
| Ice | Floating chunks; keep some raw for the oxygen terminal |
| Foam / Cardboard | Station insulation (right cutting tool) and early board |
Five interaction verbs — Break, Cut, Unscrew, Pull, Drill — cover almost all of this, and matching the verb to the object is both faster and kinder to your modules. Two confirmed recipes hinge on Electronics and Electrical Tape, which players report as scarce or badly hidden in the first hours, so the bottleneck here is recognizing what an object yields rather than finding a marker for it. For the breathing side see where to find oxygen, and use the map and locations index to pick a target area before you run out of air.
What should you craft first?
From confirmed costs only: the 2 Metal tool opens containers and panels, so it multiplies every later trip; then chase Titanium for the Backpack before a long haul. The crafting recipes list keeps recipes current and the beginner guide covers your first half hour. Collectors can cross-check the collectibles checklist and the Attendant parts page.
